Film & Video Production

Bespoke film production for training, learning and communication programmes

Training video production that earns its place

We make films for organisations that need people to understand something, feel something, or do something differently.

That might be a driver learning how to help a customer with a hidden disability, a leadership team confronting an uncomfortable truth about culture, or a whole workforce meeting the people affected by their decisions.

We write it, cast it, shoot it and cut it – and because we design learning programmes too, we know exactly what the film has to achieve before the camera comes out.

Film that’s built to do a job

Plenty of production companies make beautiful films. Not many of them also run the training session afterwards.

Our films are built as part of a programme, not as a standalone asset. So they land where they’re meant to, they’re the right length for the session they sit in, and they leave people with something to talk about.

We also make films that stand alone, for internal comms, campaigns and social.

Why film works

Film builds connection

A real person telling their own story reaches people in a way a slide never will.

Film is convenient

Short, accessible and easy to fit into a busy day.

Film drives engagement

Use the same footage across internal and external comms, not just in the training room.

Film is versatile

One film can work on social, in the boardroom, in a training session and at conference.

Understood made a series of brilliant films of our drivers meeting and talking to customers with disabilities about what their fears were when undertaking a bus journey and explaining how our drivers can help them… This really brought to life the small ways that our drivers can make a big difference to our customers with disabilities – whether visible or not.

Film and video production FAQs

What kind of films do you make?

Training and learning films, dramatised scenarios, real-story interviews, safety and behaviour change campaigns, and internal communications films. Most of our work sits inside a wider training or culture programme, but we also make standalone films.

Do you write the script as well?

Yes. Our scriptwriters handle everything from interview questions to fully dramatised scenarios, and we cast from an extensive pool of experienced actors.

Can you film at our sites?

Yes. We film on location – depots, offices, vehicles, live operational environments – and manage all the scheduling around your teams.

Do your films include subtitles and accessible versions?

Yes. Accessibility is built in rather than added afterwards. We provide subtitles as standard and can supply transcripts, audio description and BSL where a programme needs it.

How long does a training film take to produce?

It depends on scope, but a typical single film runs around six to eight weeks from brief to final cut, including scripting, filming and edit rounds.

Can film be part of a wider training programme?

That’s most of what we do. Films are often built into our diversity and inclusion, sexual harassment and safety programmes, where a real story does more than a slide.
